At school, at home, on the road

schlau.app is a math app that helps you learn and understand math. You can use the schlau app alone, in pairs, or in a small group.

You don’t need any instructions for schlau.app. Start and it works right away. To make it even better, really cool, read this page now. Here you get information to learn even faster and easier. And saving time can’t hurt, can it?

The app schlau.app is a “web app”. So you don’t have to download it from Google Play or App Store. You just open the app like a web page (which you have already done if you are reading this on your phone).

The material you can learn and practice is for grades 7 through 10, but there is some review for earlier grades. For example, you can use schlau.app to practice the multiplication tables. And there are training units for real beginners in elementary school, but also math questions for one-time learners in middle school. Anyway, here are tips and rules you need if you don’t want to waste your time and get real results out of it. And here are only 2 tips for now, but like most important ones:

Don’t “look it up” and “inform yourself”, just: do it! Be in the flow. Rather do easy tasks than long puzzles. Math training works through repetition — just like any sport.

Get into the habit of a workflow. Figure out for yourself how it works best for you. E.g. use the help button (“?”), the result button (“=”) and the explainer in a way that you stay in the flow! (Because if you always look at the result, you learn too little. But if you struggle too long, get out of the flow, and then give up, it’s no use either).

As you can see, if you’ve read this far, with schlau.app you need to be active and in control of your learning.

Practice and learn math on your own: schlau.app offers many math exercises and tricks that will help you improve your math skills. You can solve exercises on basic topics like addition and subtraction with positive and negative numbers. This way you’ll build a foundation for more success in math. And you can tackle advanced topics like powers or quadratic equations step by step.

Train math in pairs: schlau.app can also be used by two learners at the same time. You can solve tasks together and help each other. This is a great boost in math practice and is more fun, especially as partners get better at working together. Become strong teams of two!

Learn cooperatively in a small group: schlau.app can also be used by small groups, in the classroom, for tutoring, and homework help. Crack tasks together and become better and better at discussing. This way you benefit twice and get more grade points for class work and cooperation in class.

Even practice math on the way. Clever practice with repetition also means staying on task at intervals, which is spaced repetition. For example, “Can I really do this task with the kebabs? What was the question? How do we work it out?”
